Certified Pool and Spa Operator Certification

CPO® Certification

The Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center's National Swimming Pool Foundation CPO® certification courses are designed to provide individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations. The certified Pool/Spa Operator® certification program has delivered more training than any other program in the pool and spa industry since 1972, resulting in more than 282,000 successful CPO® certifications in 64 countries. Many state and local health departments accept the CPO® certification program.

Course Information

  • The CPO® certification program requires participation in the two-day class taught by a certified instructor
  • The CPO® certification program includes pool and spa chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance, automatic feeding equipment and government requirements
  • The CPO® certification requires an open book written examination (minimum 75% exam score)
  • The CPO® certification is valid for five years

CPO® Certification (2-Day Classroom Course)
The CPO® certification program is taught here as a two-day class that covers 14-16 hours of information form the NSPF® Pool & Spa Operator Handbook and local codes taught by a certified NSPF® Instructor. This dynamic setting offers direct interaction with an instructor and fellow students.
